Sheila’s passion for holistic nutrition began after she experienced her own health challenges.  In 2005 she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.  After completing both conventional treatment and a stem cell transplant, nutrition played a significant role in her journey back to health.  Her first-hand knowledge of nutrition facilitates healing and enables overall wellness.  Sheila’s desire to help others stems from the benefits she’s experienced from nutritional therapy.  She combines her ten years of working in higher education with holistic nutrition to promote your achievement of optimal health.  Sheila received her training from the Nutritional Therapy Institute and is a Certified Nutrition Therapist.  She is furthering her education and is currently completing her Master Nutrition Therapist (MNT) certificate.

The food that we eat directly impacts how we feel, our energy level, and how well our bodies function.  I believe this begins with eating a whole foods nutrient-dense diet.  This means eating foods as close to their natural state as possible.  I also believe it is important to incorporate healthy fats, protein and carbohydrates (plant-based) at every meal.  By choosing whole foods from quality food sources, you are fueling your body with nutrient-dense, nourishing foods.

When working together we will develop a personalized nutritional plan that will provide nourishment, promote healing and enable optimal health.  It is important to recognize that making dietary changes can be a process and we are all at stages of that process.  Because we each have a unique biochemical individuality, nutritional needs for optimal functioning vary from person to person.  Your current state of health, genetics, amount of physical activity and lifestyle are all factors when developing your customized plan.  For example, an active athletic individual’s nutritional recommendations will look very different than someone who is wanting to lose weight, or someone who is healing from an illness or an injury.  We will work together to develop a personalized plan to meet your goals and enhance your overall health and well-being.

I offer a variety of services including:  nutritional assessments and recommendations, grocery store tours, pantry makeovers, meal planning, cooking classes and nutritional group sessions.  You are welcome to bring your significant other if you both are looking to make dietary changes (there’s no additional charge).  In addition to meeting at The Care Group, I offer nutritional consultations at the grocery store, and in the comforts of your home via phone or video conference.  For additional information or to discuss how we might work together, please contact me at 303.913.1441 or This email address is being protected from spambots.
